57 of them just approved Capp Sustein as the Regulatory czar. Yes I know they aren't really czars. They are "Special Advisers".

Let's look at that those 57 Senators didn't have a problem with.

Capp has said he thinks animals should be represented by a human lawyer in court. GAWD forbid the steer I'm raising to eat doesn't want to die and takes me to court.

Capp thinks it should be a requirement that everyone be an organ donor. I'm an organ donor. But it's by MY choice not some clown in DC's choice.

Capp thinks the 2nd amendment is irrelevant and has no place in today's society. I live ten miles out in the country. If someone breaks in while I'm home does Capp really think they are going to wait for the sheriff to arrive? I don't. That's why I have a Beretta.

Capp thinks we shouldn't eat meat. That isn't that my choice! If we eat something has to die. Now Capp may prefer to rip the head off cabbage to survive. I like something a little more substantial.

And Capp thinks if rats are in my house I shouldn't hurt them or cause them pain if I remove them. If Capp gets in charge will I be brought to trial if I put out traps?

That may sound extreme --but those words are what Capp said.

As the "regulatory czar" he has the power to restrict many things that are not obvious.

Because of the interpretations of a regulatory agency one of the most fertile areas in California now only produces 10% of what it could. Why? Because of the drought there's a 3 in bait fish that has become endangered. So what does government do? Divert the water needed to grow crops that feed people to save minnows. Does htat really sound smart?

How much does that minnow help the economy of California? But growing those crops feeds people, produces jobs, and brings in taxes.
Which would you rather have lower cost food or a bait fish?

What happened to common sense in Washington DC? OBTW 40 Republicans voted against Capp. I guess they just hate that fish.

Since in live in the US, it's more difficult for me to work primarily in Europe, but I was wondering - if someone were to become an International Lawyer, they would have to have a home somewhere, right? So could someone live in a country without working there? Like, for instance, say I become an international lawyer. I'd be travelling all the time, so I'm wondering if it would be possible for me to apply for citizenship in France/England/Germany/Spain, because I think one of the requirements is that you do not travel within a specific time period, and I obviously wouldn't be able to do that...would someone be able to purchase a home there without having citizenship, or is there some way for be to become a citizen without having that no-travel requirement?

Law has always been an interest of mine and well I would really like to become a lawyer. What are the requirements? How difficult is it? Im 24 right now am I too old?
Can I get a degree in anything or does it have to be something like political science?
What is better to work as a prosecutor or in defense?

Should the requierments to become president be more then they are? Should that change? i think a presidental candidate should be required to have served in the U.S. military, have a degree in economics and foriegn affairs. As well a masters in political science. I think it should be a hard job to get and the candidates should be of the highest calaber and qualifications. I also think they should have a manditory set amount of time they have to serve in another office such as sennitor or govenor for at least 5 years.
This is all it takes to qualify to be presedent of the U.S.A. (The most important job in the world)

1) The United States constitution says be a "natural born citizen". This is generally interpreted to mean that a person can be president if they have been an American citizen since birth, their parents were both American citizens at the time of the person's birth, and the person has lived in the United States for fourteen years (this last point is debatable). Although there is a lot of heated discussion over this (because of the 14th Amendment), generally these are the rules adopted within US presidential elections. The same requirements apply to the Vice President.

2) You must be 35 years of age or older to be eligible for the Presidency.

3) You must be part of either the Republican or Democratic party, and have enough support from either for them to nominate you as a candidate.

Tell me your opinion and please don't say, "That is not how our system works. " I know this. I am asking if people think those requirements need to change so that we have better choices then then dim wits like Bush (A "C" student, or mouth pieces like Obama community organizer and harvard lawyer wo smoked pot and did coke and has very few years of he served in the sennate with no accomplishments to speak of other then a good speaker and community leader. Every job has a job discription. That job can have training and preperation to enter it. Such as medical, airplane mech., accountant. I would not want a surgoen to come in and learn everything about surgery on me. When you hire a laywer, or doctor, or babysitter, don't you wat someone with experience? The more the better right??? Why the hell would someone look at the job of presidancy diffrently? Don't we need to raise the bar? An ammendment can be made.

So, I have a bit of an issue..
I have two career paths set in mind.
I'd love to be some sort of psychologist (hopefully forensic), and/or a lawyer.
My problem is, I'm not sure which one would be.. better I suppose?
I was thinking about getting a degree in both Psychology and Law, that way if one fell through, I would have the other...
I'm not sure how I would go about this though, any ideas?
And also, can anyone tell me what the requirements are for becoming any type of psychologist, and a lawyer?
And would be getting a degree in both possible?

I do understand this would be a LOT of hard work, I expect it to be.

I just graduated from high school this June (and yes, I know, to all those that have had so much experience in life, I know I am still young and have time to choose). Along with my high school diploma, I received my Associates Degree at a community college. I live in California and I want to attend a California University (a UC not a CSU) but I don't know what to major in anymore. Here in California, we have a plan called the IGETC plan and it is a list of requirements that we are told to take- it is basically general education requirements that consist of biology, chemistry, dance, history, etc courses that help you choose your major according to what class(es) you were interested in the most. The problem is, I took these classes during high school as a 13 year old- a 17 year old and I didn't pay much attention to what I liked the most. Don't get me wrong, I got mostly all A grades on all my classes except four but I never seemed to realize that this was the time to focus on what I like. So, all my life, I have been wanting to be a pediatrician. I am not sure I want to do that anymore.

I am still interested in Biology- medical (to become a doctor)
I am also interested in Business
Fashion
Architect (i think)- designing buildings
Films
and Law (lawyer)

I know a few of these have no stability, for example film so that is off my list, and fashion, i really like it but I am not too sure I will have a future with that.

I want a job I like, that pays well- doesn't have to pay a lot but must be something that won't put me in a difficult financial status, Must give me my free time- time to spend with family and travel at least once a year and it must be something I know will alway have a "future" as in there will always be jobs for this.
Can anyone help me? If you majored in any of these areas, can you tell me what your life is like. Thank! and have an AWESOME day

Hello, I will be finishing my Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice pretty soon. I have 6 more classes to go. I have been taking them online through the University of Phoenix. Does anybody know the process it takes to be a lawyer. How much college would I have to complete, types of classes and testing for the bar. Any special college that I have to go to after I complete my AA in Criminal Justice?

Or to put it simply: What are the educational requirements in becoming an attorney in California or the steps involved.

ok, so i am a rising "fourth year" at a university-- getting my bachelors in administration of justice in may 2010 (i.e.: when i'll graduate).

when i first began college, i was interested in becoming a lawyer-- which is why i began studying law. now, i am not interested in becoming a lawyer & im at a loss of what to do...

i really like criminal psych-- studying the minds of criminals. but not really forensic psych, because im bad at science. furthermore, since my BS is in criminal justice- i can't really apply for a master's in a psych related field, bc ive seen the requirements & i basically need BS in psych.

so, i was thinking maybe applying for a masters in sociology? ive heard you can research criminals/the criminal mind with that? but im not sure... anything else i could do with a masters in sociology?

i was also considering getting my paralegal certificate after i graduate, & trying to get a job doing that. i dont need to make lots of $, but obv. nothing too low to where i couldnt support myself. i could see myself researching cases, interviewing people, etc... but everytime i say i am interested in being a paralegal, people kinda give me an odd look, like "why in the hell would you want to do that..."

any other suggestions of what i could pursue as a master's?

i know im rambling- but any advice/suggestions/personal experience stories would really help me. im stressing out...

i really don't want to do police work... i have my reasons...
mailacco..., i appreciate the honest, detailed response. im really not interested in health care... i know you say it's the smart choice, but i've devoted 3 yrs. of school & lots of money studying criminal justice. moreover, i do like the field... do you have any other suggestions?

For transfer student from Community College. What university for the last 2 years should i apply for?

okay...so im interested in studying law at university in the next 2 years. I meet the requirements for the universities, but i don't know where to study. I want to become a lawyer and specialise in criminal law.

so just curious to anyone who is studying law:
1. at what university do you study at?
2. do you enjoy studying law?
3. and what do you hope to achieve in the course you study?

any answers are greatly appreciated :)

I have to interview a paralegal, but there isn't one here where I live. I need it for my Business Law course. All I want to know is about the profession. Here are 10 questions:

1. What do paralegals do?
2. Are they the same as a Lawyer?
3. How is their job related to the law?
4. What is your typical day like?
5. What are the educational requirements to become a paralegal? (be specific)
6. If you are a paralegal, why did you become one?
7. What do you enjoy most about being a paralegal?
8. What's challenging about it?
9. How long have you been a paralegal?
10. What advice would you give to someone who wanted to become a paralegal?

You want to become a firefighter, lawyer, doctor, or your kid wants to get into a good college. You study your butt off, go through the materials, and do various things to prepare for the test. You take the test and you have a high score that would practically guarantee acceptance. However, you find out that someone who scored lower would get the spot because that person was of an different race.

Well, that's the situation with the New Haven firefighters the Sotomayor supporters smear. Yes, you liberals think quota systems are a good idea...until YOU'RE the one out of a job or denied entry into college to appease a "requirement."

I know requirements probably vary from school to school, but I'm becoming interested in studying law and I don't have the highest grade point average. I have about a 2.2 as of this year, but I'm only a sophomore. Would I get accepted to law school?
I'm not shooting for like.. Harvard. A few of my sister's friends went to small law schools near San Francisco and are making very decent money. I'm planning on going to community college beforehand also, I forgot to mention.

I'm 15, and lately I've really been thinking about what I might want to be when I get older. I've thought maybe a lawyer, but I don't have a lot of patience that would be needed for court, and reading about the laws and such. Recently my dad and I were looking at houses, and we were talking about how being a realtor could be a really good job. I figure it's a good job, and the hours may change all the time, but your pay is dependent on the house, and almost completely up to you. So what kind of schooling or requirements would you need. How old do you need to be, do you need to have your grade twelve? Any information would be great, I think I would really enjoy a job in real estate.

I'm just about to graduate from High School. I know what my inclinations are, I am interested in Law Enforcement (Preferably Federal), A career in the Military as an Officer (Army) and, later on, perhaps become an Attorney/Lawyer. I am not sure about exactly what career I will take. I would like to do something exciting while I am young (Law enforcement/Military) and/or become an Attorney ASAP or later on.

Now, the question is...
What can I study that would:

1. Fulfill admission requirements for all 3 Fields
2. Can be done in steps (as in, Bachelors 1st, then a Masters)
3. That will provide critical skills for all 3 fields

I understand I only need a Bachelors for the FBI (and other law enforcement agencies) and for admittance into Army OCS. Obviously, I need a Masters+ for Attorney.

So, what would be the best subject to study?

I'm A Freshman In High School:
My parents have been telling me over and over again that I am not prepared for my future. So I'm asking the questions I need.
What education I need to become a lawyer?
Does Brown University have a law department?
What colleges have a good law department and a swim team?
Where can I find the requirements of the college (basically whether or not I screwed up my life cause I got a C in math this year)?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Help Me!

What other critical public position would you accept at only a minimum of 35 years old and a native born citizen?...Your doctor?...your lawyer?.....your professor?.....your mechanic?

Okay so im in ninth grade and next year i will have to pick subjects depending on the type of career i want.
I am thinking about becoming either a lawyer or an archaeologist. Can you list the pros and cons of each, the best schools in the UK for each, the requirements and the subjects i will need to choose and do note that my school doesn't offer a lot of subjects.
I get to choose from only a few subjects and no AS or A Level subjects.
I either have to pick between Geography, Literature, Woodwork, Home Economics, Business, Accounts, History, Social Science, Science, They might bring in a teacher for Biology, Physics or Chemistry so i might be able to pick them also, Spanish, Art, TD, Typing, Office Administration and English Language, Computer and Maths are compulsory.

Ok so first of all, I realize It's never easy to become rich, and all of these ways would be hard, but if you had to pick, which one would be the least difficult way to become rich?

Become a pro at a sport, Become a music artist or producer, become an actor, and thats all i can think of. Any other jobs out there that pay extremely good? I know doctor is one of those jobs, but what other jobs are out there where you can become rich and famous and is the easiest out of all of them?

Again I realize none of them are easy, but which is the least difficult way to become rich and famous if a person is very determined?

Besides being a doctor or lawyer or anytype of job where you wear suits and work in an office.

Im guessing becoming a music artist is the easiest since anyone can write lyrics, but then again you need some talent to do that too, but can that be learned?

going pro is pretty hard if you dont have the physical requirements and talent,

i dunno what do u guys think?

I have been searching but have been unable to find much in the way of detailed requirements for Law School, and future education. I have found a local College that offers an Associates in Applied Sciences for Paralegals. I know you need a bachelors for Law School admission, but is Applied Sciences acceptable? If not, can it be used to gain the appropriate BA degree (In Government, Politics, Humanities, or whatever is required)?

I'm interested in becoming a parallegal or lawyer
once highschool lets out, which for me will be in
two years. I'm curious of what the requirements
are for entrance into Harvard Law School. What
grades are required? What classes need to be
taken?

Answers would be great, thank you.

I was wondering what requirements are needed to become a Lawyer in Pa.

I'm in high school and i am debating whether or not i should enter orthodontist school or try and become a lawyer. either way i know i am going to need completely different subjects, my first goal is defiantly to be an orthodontist however i only have taken chemistry thus far and i stand with a 65 % which i dint believe will get me accepted into any university or medical school. any recommendations and knowledge of requirements for both types of schools ?

kk. let me break this down. im 14 and a freshman in high school. ive debated on whether i should be a lawyer or a video game designer. to be more specific, a video game animator. now i no for sure that i want to be a video game animator. but im so confused on what to do. can u answer these questions plz.

1) What are different jobs a video game designer can have??
2) What is a video game animator and what does he do??
3) How much money do they make if they are just starting. How about more experienced??
4) What classes should i take in high school??
5) What are some good colleges i can go to??
6) What are some requirements you need to be a video game animator??
7) What video game companies are in Illinois. What about in the Chicago area??
8) What does it take to be a video game animator??
9) How many hours do they have to work??
10) What is the typical day like for a video game designer??
11) Is i stressful??

If would like add anything extra, u can. Thanks very much. i really appreciate it.

I understand that position and the requirements very well, but I don't understand the process for becoming an Army Lawyer. I know that to become one you have to have a degree in law (which I plan on getting) but I don't understand this: because I am poor (so poor it's not even poor...super poor describes it pretty well) would the army pay for my college with the premise that I would join for at least 4-10 yrs?

I want to be a lawyer (right now I'm a junior in high school, 4.0 since 7th grade) and love the idea of not only accomplishing my dream but serving my country too.

I wanted to go to school to become a lawyer but I know it takes forever..!!

I'm really passionate of becoming a lawyer..but I wanted tomake SURE if it's almost guaranteed that if I work hard, and if i complete all the requirements will I get a job?

i have to wait to get hired right?what if there's no job..what if i went to school for allt hese years..? is this occupation in demand?

Readers Weigh In On President-Elect Obamaas "Natural-Born" Status; Peter Brimelow Comments.

Letters Editor Joe Guzzardi writes: As Barack Obama races to appoint his Cabinet, rumors surrounding his eligibility to be President continue to swirl. Some skeptics claim that Obama is rushing his appointments to establish himself as de facto president and to render any challenges to the legitimacy of his presidency as after the fact. [A Handpicked Team for a Sweeping Shift in Foreign Policy by David Sanger, New York Times, November 30, 2008]

Still, agitation mounts that Obama may be unqualified to be president because he does not meet the Constitutional requirement that he is a?natural born citizen.a? Obamaas parental grandmother has been quoted as saying she was present in the delivery room during his birthain Kenya. Obama claims to have been born in Hawaii.

According to some analysts, if born abroad, Obama does not even meet U.S. citizenship standards, because his father was a Kenyan citizen and his mother was not old enough to qualify him.

Obama could presumably resolve the uncertainties about his citizenship by proving the necessary documents. But his critics claim he has evaded the questions posed to him.

Two readers offer their analyses; Peter Brimelow comments.
An Australian Reader Says a?Emperor Obamaa? Threatens The Constitution

From: Andrew Fraser (e-mail him)

I don't understand the deafening silence of VDARE.COM on the question of whether Obama is a natural-born U.S. citizen.

Surely, the fact that the ever-sensible Reverend Manning Marable has seen fit to take up the issue in the video linked here provides prima facie cause to have your site investigate the pleadings in the Leo Donofrio, the Alan Keyes, and the Philip Berg lawsuits all challenging Obamaas citizenship.

Where's there's so much smoke, there must be a good chance that a fire is about to break out. Here's a link to one exposition of the basic issues.

In another lawsuit, one of the most sharply focused, the plaintiffs, including Alan Keyes who was on the California ballot as Presidential candidate for the American Independence Party and who in 2004 ran against Obama as Republican Party candidate for the Illinois US Senate, ask that the California Secretary of State and Democratic electors certify that Obama does in fact meet the constitutional qualification for eligibility.

More is at stake than a mere legal technicalityaalthough, to be fair, any ordinary person reading the pleadings in the Berg or Donofrio case will throw up his hands at what appears to be legalistic double-talk.

But in making almost any case every lawyer customarily argues "in the alternative." For example, "I contend that Obama was not born in the U.S. but, even if he was, he is not a 'natural born citizen.'" What some might call a "technicality" seems to Berg, Keyes et al to be a fundamental question of Constitutional legitimacy.

The courts, however, and the Supreme Court in particular, may refuse to deal with the problem. The Electoral College, too, may wash its hands of the issue. Congress may be indifferent as to whether or not the incoming President is a usurper. The people may remain in their stupor. The Mainstream Media may pretend that the Messiah has come by a miracle outside the Constitution.

But if Obama takes the oath of office under fraudulent circumstances, the Constitution will be dead.

From the moment Obama places his hand on the Bible held before him by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, he will know that his will to usurp the presidency has become a law unto itself, higher even than the Constitution.

Obama is a Harvard Law graduate. He is well aware that his life story reads like a well-crafted hypothetical problem on a Constitutional Law exam. Obama knows that the Constitutional meaning of the phrase "natural born citizen" has never been raised, much less resolved, in a court of law.

He must be counting now on the obvious damage to the established order that would follow any assertion, from the Supreme Court or the Electoral College that he is a Constitutional impostor.

Altogether apart from legitimate fears of civil disorder should Obamaas eligibility be questioned, the issue of natural born citizenship is a matter of the deepest significance. Obama's campaign has always presented (albeit until now implicitly) a revolutionary challenge. From the beginning, Obama has presented himself, not as an American patriot but more as a citizen of the world. He now represents the Third World immigrant invasion in the most literal sense.

The symbolism of the coming Obama presidency goes to the heart of what is means to be an American citizen.

The Constitution implies that a distinction must be made between ordinary "citizens" who are not eligible for the Presidency and those "natural born" citizens who are.

Obama may be, in fact and in law, a natural-born citizen. But why doesn't he p

Ok, the election is over now, nothing no one can do about it....

BUT...I know about the lawsuit that is pending about Obama's birth certificate, what I don't get is why it would be sealed. Why doesn't Obama just once and for all show it to either shut people up or to prove them right? I realize it is to see if he is truly an American citizen, that I get, but I don't get why there is hesitation by Obama to either prove people right or wrong.

And also...I have read that Obama's lawyer is a known lawyer that represents terrorits.
I copied the below from the website..
Here come another of those "Guilt by Associations" that Senator Barack Obama will try to weasel himself out of. As you may know, Philip Berg is suing Senator Obama in Civil Court. Berg wants Obama to Produce his real birth certificate to prove that he meets the citizenship requirements to be President. Rather than just product the birth certificate (is he trying to hide something?) Obama's legal team filed a motion to dismiss. One of the Lawyers filing the motion was Joe Sandler (sandler@sandlerreiff.com) of the Washington law firm Sandler, Reiff, and Young...

Joe Sandler? Sandler, Reiff, and Young?

Joe Sandler was the CAIR lawyer who sent a letter to the Young America's Foundation in August 2007, threatening them with legal action if they let me speak to their national student conference. (You can see the letter here.) I spoke anyway (YAF's Jason Mattera said, "CAIR can go to hell and take their seventy-two virgins with them"), and the threatened lawsuit did not materialize (at least as of this writing, over a year later).

But now here again Obama allies himself with someone who has but scant regard for the freedom of speech. Will he, as President, sacrifice that freedom in an attempt to build the bridges with the Islamic world that he has boasted of being able to build? Here is a full discussion of that possibility.

I hope that Barack Obama, when he becomes President, will become a staunch defender of the First Amendment against attempts by the Muslim Brotherhood and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to limit it or destroy it altogether. But his hiring of Joseph Sandler is not at all reassuring.

Can anyone make sense of this, and explain to me exactly what it is that is going on, and what the possible outcomes will be if Obama is NOT a citizen.

Thanks everyone.
Cassandra: Excuse me, but I am not suing him. I asked a question because I wanted to understand. If you are going to rant and rave by all means go elsewhere.

Now...everyone else, thank you for answering so far...even though I don't totally understand what all the hoop laah is about.

I have heard that Paralegal is the one who works under direct supervision of a lawyer. Is that correct? Are paralegals same as legal document assistants? What are the requirements to become a Paralegal?

I am a Permanent Resident of the US, I got my greencard october of 2006, I am from the philippines, I went to the US to get my GC, and requested for a re-entry permit for me to return to the Philippines and finish my college, I now graduated this march and i got back here last august, i have a girlfriend who i love very much and we are planning to live here in the US because of my situation,
you mentioned last time that the faster way for me to get her is when i get my US citizen,
with me having my GC october 2006, when would i be a US Citizen? and can i immediately petition her when i become one? do i still have to hire a lawyer to apply for her fiance visa? what are the requirements that i need to have for me to succesfully petition her? what is the federal poverty line here in NC? if ever my application for her fiance visa is rejected, how long can i re-apply for her?

Im trying to become a US (i have all the requirements already) citizen and i will be using a lawyer, I heard that I could possibly do it myself with out a lawyer. does anyone knows whats better? Do I really need a Lawyer or can I do it all my self? If i can do it myself where do I start/go? What works faster? How helpful is having a lawyer? How long does it really take the whole process? Whats cheaper? Anyone knows a good Lawyer?
Thank You Guys! :)

I have been employed by my employer, a family owned business, a closely held C corporation for 26 years which I, am the only son that has stuck with and helped build it to make it what it is today. My life has been based on making this corporation successful as well as prosperous. It has been well promised, unconditionally, repeatedly over the years which she does not dispute, that I would assume controlling shares at her retire. But now believes my attitude has made the promise "Null & Void."

During her semi retirement and over the last 5 years, I have been given shares of the corporate stock each year, finally totaling 24% of the total stock. Once she semi retired, the corporation became very successful with a value of the corporation at approximately 10 million. Now, the major stockholder, has all of a sudden changed her mind, stripped me of title and function in the corporation, gave my office to her friend the book keeper, dropped my pay from 450k to 86k annually and is no longer giving me any portion of the proceeeds from the corporate quarterly profits. I expect she will also soon completely terminate my employ for no real business complaint but for personal reasons.

She now wants to buy my shares back at pennies on the dollar and give the corportion to her other son which has had NO involvment of the corporation.

My theory seems to meet all the requirements resquired of promissory estoppel and from being estopped. However, since my pay has been reduced so drastically, I doubt I can ever hire a lawyer.

What would you do?

like what do I need. I just finshed my general requirements

qualifications?
requirements for employment?
Salary starting out?
Advancement opportunities?
Benefits?

i know you have to go to law school after your bachlors degree. whats the best bachelors degree to get?

I know I don't have to go to law school, and I know I have to take the Bar exam. Also, I know I have to work for a law firm for a certain ammount of time, but i don't know all the details. Do I need a Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Law or another field? How long do i have to work at the law firm before taking the Bar exam? Can I attend school to get my Bachelor's Degree and work at a law firm at the same time? Is there anything else you can add to help me understand the requirements? Thanks.
